Service Description

Thursdays – 8-week creative coding program for 1st–2nd graders at North Star Elementary. Our youngest coders will spark their imagination in ScratchJr Thursdays — a playful introduction to storytelling, animation, and creative problem-solving! 🌈 Students will learn how to think like programmers as they design their own interactive stories and digital scenes using simple coding blocks that bring their ideas to life. Each week builds confidence and creativity as students explore sequencing, patterns, and loops through fun, age-appropriate challenges. Based on their experience and confidence level, some students may begin working in Scratch, providing an extra layer of creativity and challenge for ready learners. Along the way, they’ll even get a sneak peek at Makey Makey, seeing how everyday objects can connect to technology — an exciting glimpse of what’s ahead when they join our upper-level programs. With a student-to-coach ratio of at least 8:1, every child receives personalized support and encouragement in a safe, engaging learning environment filled with curiosity, creativity, and Aloha spirit. 🌺
